James Lee: Fukushima Update…

Anderson Valley

There is a lot of non-reporting of what is really going on behind the scenes in regards to Fukushima.

Apparent authentic documents obtained in 2012 using the FOIA about what really has happened at Fukushima reveal, if accurate, that the spent fuel rod containers in Daichi 4, and possibly in # 3 were destroyed directly after the initial earthquake and tsunami in March 2011 and a mass release of radiation occurred. This would explain why we are seeing such high levels of radiation already in the West.

This would also mean that all the information being released from Fukushima is propaganda to keep us from discovering that the worst case scenario has already occurred and there is a massive cover up going on. For if this information was released all nuclear power plants would be shut down immediately by public demand… or maybe not.

NRC CHAIRMAN JACZKO: Yes. So, again, just to repeat, we believe pool No. 4 is dry, and we believe one of the other pools is potentially structurally damaged?

CHUCK CASTO: That’s correct.

The U.S. has had, and most likely has employed, its NEST, National Emergency Response Team to Fukushima.
“Following the 1994 exercise in New Orleans, NEST was restructured. The name NEST was maintained but instead of the Nuclear Emergency Search Team it became the Nuclear Emergency Support Team. It was reorganized into three elements: the Nuclear/Radiological Support Team (NRAT), Search, and the Joint Technical Operations Team (JTOT). NRAT has domestic and foreign support teams which deploy from Washington to advise local authorities, and provide a rapid-response capability to provide preliminary information for follow-on groups. ”

GE Involved Every Step of the Way

Greenpeace has called for “GE” to be held accountable for the flawed design of the reactors at Fukushima Daiichi. This seems to ignore the reality that “GE” is still there and largely in charge of the disaster response and profiting off of it.

This company has been a major player in the response at the plant. Hitachi-GE is frequently names as just “Hitachi” but it is the GE nuclear company as it exists today in both Japan and the US. This is the company that designed and mostly built the reactors at Fukushima Daiichi. They have also had a heavy presence in the maintenance and repair of these reactors over the decades. This list of open proposals on Hitachi-GE’s website shows the considerable extent to which they are running the response to the disaster and decommissioning efforts. Hitachi is doing everything from inspection efforts to decommissioning planning based on their requests for proposals on their website. Hitachi is also frequently branded on these efforts already underway though TEPCO declines to admit who is doing the work. Hitachi developed the SoRa robot. They were involved in the boat robot project. Hitachi admits involvement in just about every aspect of the response at Daiichi. Hitachi-GE appears to admit their involvement in the fuel removal work at Unit 4 in this detailed presentation they give at Oak Ridge.

GE Public Relations Knows Nothing About the Problems of Fukushima

“I called General Electric Corporate headquarters in Fairfield, Connecticut today to find out what GE, the designer of flawed reactors that blew up in Japan because of an earthquake and is now destroying he Pacific Ocean and the life bowl of Earth Mother. The number there is 203 373 2211. I initially spoke with Linda, who to my absolute astonishment, knew nothing of Fukushima. I kid you not Linda either acted as if she was ignorant of the disaster in which thousands of people died in Japan on 3/11 or was actually ignorant of it. Either way, the reaction speaks volumes to me.”

It would help if you used correct terminology. When you say “the spent fuel rod containers in Daichi 4, and possibly in # 3 were destroyed” are you referring to dry cask storage? Do you know the difference between dry cask storage and spent fuel pool storage?

Mr. Hughes,

I’m sorry for your confusion and that you have to shoot the messenger with an ad hominem comment instead of focusing on this huge issue affecting all as well as the fact we are all being sold out by our government as they solely support corporate interests.

I’m just a lay person trying to understand this but it seems clear to me that if you read the NRC minutes in the attachment I provided they are only referring to the spent fuel storage rods in both #3 and #4 and not the dry storage casks. They reference ‘buildings’ and ‘pools’ and nowhere speak about casks.

BILL RUAN: Yes, because there’s no fuel pool left.

BILL RUAN: Unit 3, he believes

And basically, everything else is gone, and at least in his opinion, and, of course,

Chuck knows this, Jim’s opinion is there’s no water in the pool.

BILL RUAN: Unit 3.

Unit 2, he believes it’s drying out. If you look at the top of the building now, that hole that they created, there’s steam coming out of that hole.

CHUCK CASTO: It’s in dryout.

BILL RUAN: They’re drying it out.

And, then, the only pool that might be okay is Unit 1.

Here is an excellent overview, IMO, including both the problem with the spent fuel casks being stored on neighboring hills at Fukushima and the spent fuel rods removal process.

Ho Ho Ho

Good for you J.Lee. Just let me say a word on behalf of those who, IMnot soHO, make the choice to just avoid thinking about the whole Fuckushima issue. When the waters are so deliberately muddied by vast fortunes spent on covering up the truth, both at the source and internationally through mass media, it seems reasonable and defensible for at least some folks to just ignore the whole thing for a while and come back to it later when time has caused the mud to settle and provide for better viewing. At the very least, IMnotsoHO, those who feel a sense of panic growing in them really should take some time off and come back later. We are still digesting important events from my childhood. Some detail is lost and the propagandistic narrative still exists, but the basic pattern is discernible and blame diffuses to sets of actors, some not suspected at the time of the uproar.

“Don’t just do something, stand there.” is sometimes the best motto. If one becomes well enough informed to come to the conclusion that one is being deliberately confused by a cover up, watchful silent waiting also serves the truth.
