On the other hand, just put solar on homes (subsidized like the big corporations will be — PG&E will be subsidized for their massive solar arrays and then charge us with a rate increase). Hook up a charging station at home and charge your electric car at night (no need for smart meter intrusions). Infrastructure is already in place. 90 some percent of all driving is within 45 miles. Therefore we use 90% less oil in vehicles, OK say 80%, then get rid of that damn plastic packaging and we are OK with our own oil and no need to cause more oil spills

    Panels + vehicle on my to-do list. Thanks for the nudge. I live way up a rough road. Initial investment will be high.

I personally think that more attention should be paid to decentralizing the big increase in solar panels that is clearly coming.
